N0MES is a partnership between the University of Liverpool and Liverpool John Moores University and is supported by EPSRC and over 30 maritime focused partners. We are creating a net zero energy maritime hub to enhance the extensive network of industry partners to expand UK horizons in net zero technology.

N0MES will equip its postgraduate researchers with core engineering and disciplinary expertise to achieve excellence in their domain to cultivate their creativity and push beyond their area of expertise, as demanded by the decarbonisation challenge.
Net Zero
Over 30 maritime energy sector partners will help to pursue new, engineering-centred, interdisciplinary research to address four vital net zero challenges currently facing the Northwest, the UK and beyond.
Interdisciplinary research
52 N0MES CDT postgraduate researchers will advance the Engineering Net Zero EPSRC research priority, offering post-grad researchers the chance to work in a cohort to tackle interdisciplinary challenges and gain essential skills for the net zero maritime energy sector.
